Presentation: Home Motion Capture. Some of the most exciting technology development is being created with a consumer device for the Xbox that has captured the imagination of programmers and artists worldwide. Motion capture without makers or motion capture suits, scanning object and entire rooms in real time, and many other capabilities will be shown, including live demonstrations of the motion capture and facial capture possibilities, and the 3d point cloud and capture capabilities.
An amazing and inexpensive piece of hardware that programmers have been developing with open-source code. The results are truly astonishing: markerless motion capture, real-time scanning, facial recognition, and more...

Speaker: Mike Amron. Mike's goal is to bring excitement and renewed interest of computer graphics to the creative community in L.A. Mike Amron has worked as a technical director for ILM, DD, VIFX and Metrolight. He has worked on features (Jingle All the Way, Casper, Looney Tunes), commercials and music videos. More recently, he has consulted on Marvel's Avengers, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Mike also organizes the L.A. Kinect Meetup Group.
